	Forty-three Rebels Tabbed To MWC Scholar-Athlete List Just one week removed from having a record-setting 137 student-athletes named to the Spring 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference list, UNLV had 43 student-athletes tabbed to the 2007-08 Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, the league office announced today. 	Rebels Place 88 Student-Athletes On Spring Academic List UNLV had a total of 88 student-athletes earn Spring 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors, the league office announced today. UNLV's 88 representatives were the second most in the institution's history for this time frame. In all, UNLV had its best year academically with a total of 137 student-athletes receiving recognition for their efforts in the classroom. [ + ]
	Rebel Student-Athletes Have Outstanding Year The UNLV Athletics Department continues to make strides both on an off the fields and courts. The 2007-08 school year was extremely successful in the classroom for Rebel student-athletes.

Target Presents Employer Expectations
To CHAMPS Class
The final CHAMPS/Life Skills course at UNLV took place on Monday, April 21st. While all student-athletes can attend, juniors and seniors were strongly encouraged to come learn valuable career development skills. Two weeks prior, Career Services presented a résumé workshop to student-athletes. On the 21st, students brought their completed résumés to a workshop with Target. [ + ]

UNLV Student-Athletes Honored
Sophomore baseball player Kyle Kretchmer and sophomore volleyball player Jessica Walters led those recognized at the 29th Annual UNLV Scholar-Athlete Honors Luncheon held at the Foundation Building on UNLV's campus Tuesday. [ + ]

More Than 75 Student-Athletes and 12 Coaches Participate in Nevada Reading Week
UNLV student-athletes and coaches visited classrooms throughout the Las Vegas valley during Nevada Reading Week, February 25-29. Over 75 student-athletes from 10 teams and 12 football coaches visited more than 20 elementary schools in Clark County. [ + ]

UNLV Student-Athletes Make Santa Clothes Program Another Success
The Office of Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) in University College joined the Rotary Club of Las Vegas for the 12th Annual Santa Clothes Program. This year was the biggest ever, with over 40 student-athletes from more than 10 teams participating in the event that benefited 292 children. The teams included Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Cheerleading, Softball, Volleyball, Women's Golf, Track and Field, Football, Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball. The Rotary Club members and other volunteers took groups of underprivileged children from the Las Vegas area to various J.C. Penney locations in the valley to shop for winter clothes that they need. UNLV Student-Athletes Impact Children on Career Day
Two UNLV student-athletes spoke to students at Ullom Elementary on Friday, November 9th. Samantha Lantefield, a freshman cheerleader from Star, Idaho, and Samuel Tuala, a freshman football student-athlete from North Las Vegas, made a huge impact on the children. Samantha and Samuel rotated between classrooms, speaking to students in the third through fifth grades on their Career Day. [ + ]
