         <description><![CDATA[After dropping its first match of the 2008 season earlier this morning, the UNLV Rebels recovered to even its overall record at 1-1 with a 3-1 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday evening. The Rebels now own a three-match winning streak over the Sun Devils and upped the series history to 4-2 in their favor. The teams split the first two sets of the match, but the Rebels came out swinging to claim the third and fourth sets. Colorado State, the 2007 MWC regular season champion, was picked to repeat in 2008, as they obtained 13 first-place votes and a total of 125 points. Utah came in second with 95 points, while BYU garnered one first-place vote and 82 points for third. New Mexico was selected fourth with 81 points, 18 more than UNLV's 63.
